Quick Update

I know I do not need to say this, but I will any just because I feel the need to...Sorry for not posting updates the last few days. We know there are a lot of people praying and pulling for our little guy and are wondering how he is doing. Things have been exhausting, but promising. Elias is doing well after a weekend of recovery from his 6 hour surgery on Friday. They fixed his esophagus and did the colostomy. The surgeon told us he tolerated the operation very well and that his vitals stayed fairly normal. During recovery his blood pressure has been low. He was being given Dopamine to help raise that. He is now off the medicine. He is still receiving fentanyl & heparin for pain and to keep him relaxed to not tear or do damage to the surgical areas by moving around. He is starting to really respond to Mom & Dad now when we enter the room. He opens his eyes as if to tell us he knows we are there. The nurses have also been letting us know that when we are there his vitals are always much more improved. That means a lot in terms of bonding for us since we have not been able to hold him yet. He is having a CT scan of his chest this morning. There is a video in his photo album now (Which I'll attempt to put into the blog if I can get it to work) and more pictures will hopefully be up tonight.

I will try to get more information up tonight. Have a blessed & wonderful day.
