Ramblings

Elias rested easy today with few problems. He still favors his head laying on his right side despite the many attempts to position him otherwise. Almost every nurse has asked us about that with a chuckle in their voice. He certainly has no problem letting us know what he wants. He has developed quite the personality. One of our favorite things he does is his "exercises." When the occupational therapist came in a few weeks ago to start working with him, she showed us some range of motion exercises we can at the bedside while we are visiting. She also comes in and works with him periodically. Elias seemed to love these "exercises" so much he does them on his own throughout the day, he is so smart! It's very cute to watch & we're working on getting some video catching him doing them. Elias is also starting to grip fairly well with his right hand. He held on to daddy's finger today for about 20 minutes with a strong grip. We've said it before but it's worth saying again, he is amazing at the things he has accomplished in such a short time. We are so proud of him.

Completely random thought here, but did everyone notice the special guest on Elias' tag board? Mickey Mouse himself is apparently reading about our little guy. That gave us a big smile tonight, so thank you Mickey!! Mickey you can tell everyone that Elias is destined to be a Donald Duck fan though. He definitely has that same fiery spirit.
