Elias Gets A Crib!!

Wow this is the 101st post, and 66th day in the NICU! It seems like yesterday he was born. We have some pictures from today below and you can really see how much he has grown, especially in his face. He weighed in at 5 lbs. 11.9 oz today. He had a little better day today. It looked as though he got some sleep overnight. His eyes were not as red and puffy. He was having a little trouble with being "junky" with his breathing. We had to suction him a lot more today than we have recently. He has also been spitting up a little the last few days, which is a new thing for him. There doesn't seem to be any real concern over this, but they are keeping a watchful eye on the frequency, amount, and content. It is mostly mucus and bile at times. It's possible that the feeding tube being a little thicker than the last might be contributing, but it is hard to say at this point.

Katharine held him today for a little while to try and soothe him. As you can see from the pictures he was alert, and enjoyed the cuddle time. While mommy held him, his nurse decided it was time for Elias to become more like a baby and get a crib. We purchased a mobile tonight on the way home to take in for him tomorrow. This will certainly help him developmentally. We certainly hope you enjoy the pictures from today. We hope to have some fun news about Elias, his crib, and his new mobile tomorrow. We also just want to thank everyone again for being so wonderfully supportive, especially this past week. It has certainly been a little frustrating, but we know everyone is praying and sending positive thoughts for a productive Monday.
