The plan: simple

They started Elias on steroid treatments the next few days to help reduce the swelling and irritation. They will try to extubate him on Wednesday.

  1. I am so happy to hear that Elias is going to try to extubated tomorrow. I know just how difficult it is. Michael was intubated for 7 long weeks after his first open heart surgery and it was horrible. I am so glad that you are able to hold him-keep doing that...I really feel that helps so much. The first 18 months of Michael's life was very difficult..but I will say now that he is past all the surgeries (at least for now) that the difficulties lie in just dealing with a typical almost 2 year old :). I am always praying for little Elias and can not wait to hear the good news when he goes home.

  2. In my experience, steroids are a MIRACLE drug. They saved me, they have saved Brody. Will be thinking about that wonderful little guy and hoping the extubing goes smoothly. Hugs from me & Brody.
