Just A Tiny Update

So Elias has had several episodes of spiting up overnight. They are keeping an eye on, but not certain there is cause for concern. My only thought on this is, history tells us that Elias does this right before they find something wrong. So we're bracing ourselves, but hoping he is just "doing what babies do." Surgery decided to place another NJ tube this morning. The one they placed yesterday did not place correct and neither did this one. They decided to leave it in and hope it migrates down. Once the placement is confirmed they are going to switch his feeds to the NJ and give the G-Tube a rest for a few days to heal. I'm not even going to attempt to explain the MRSA antibiotic dilemma (not to mention confusing) other than to say that they are going to try another IV today and central line access will be revisited by the entire medical team tomorrow. Elias needs 10-14 more days of IV antibiotics and while this was discussed before and ruled out because of risk factors, the need is now greater. In spite of all that Elias was looking well and having a blast the last few days. I hope you have had a chance to check out the photos and the new videos. Elias really likes his Donald Duck stuffed doll. He looks at that thing and the facial expressions he gives along with the smiles, and laughs you'd swear he was having a conversation with Donald! It is certainly a joy to watch!!
