update for the morning

Elias had a restful night and was really enjoying his mobile. Overnight Elias lost his IV access, but rather than place another they opted to administer the antibiotic PO (through his G-Tube). Kind of scary considering the leakage and importance of him getting the antibiotics, but better than 2 hours of poking and prodding for another IV. This morning though there was some leakage around the G-tube again, not as significant as before but enough to warrant them to decide to place a NJ tube back in to run his feeds and let the G-tube rest and heal. Unfortunately, when they shot the x ray to confirm placement of the tube the could not get it into the jejunal (upper part of small intestines). So they revert back to the G-Tube again, just monitoring the leakage closely and then decide if they should place the NJ tube under fluoroscopy on Monday. We can't really complain about it though because at least they surgery team acted on it! So that just shows it was discussed and taken care of.
