I need the playlist because I feel like I've heard all of them. Awesome. Also, two things struck me - Elias really really wants to be here, and his parents are going to make him laugh a LOT as he grows up. I also wondered what you'd say if Elias says one day that he wants a REAL Donald Duck? I had a premature baby that had many problems, esophagus and tracheal probs, aspiration, Severe GERD, respiratory emergencies, etc. I've made comments on other blogs where they understand what it's like living with a child like this but don't actually post or talk about his prematurity or his issues much on my own, if at all. Most folks don't really get it or care to get it and for me it's just not worth the effort or time to explain what we've been through.

Are they doing surgery soon or have they already? I know a bit about it because some of the symptoms line up with the symptoms my son experienced and they had to rule out atresia. We've done our share of NICU time and being in and out of hospitals for several years but my son is doing great now....of course he's got different diagnoses than your son. The pictures of your son just break my heart and make me smile at the same time. I hate seeing all that was done to these precious babies, and frankly it brings back tough memories, but at the same time it's amazing to watch their progress too!

I wish you the best of luck and if you ever want to talk to someone that's been near where you are feel free to drop me a line anytime! I have great Dr/hospital recommendations in a few states as well!Rhondahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15780571361141805413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7131658417200450911.post-32539275133776380862008-11-07T22:16:00.000-05:002008-11-07T22:16:00.000-05:00Just wanted to say 'thank you' for the comment on ...Just wanted to say 'thank you' for the comment on our blog. I can't quite imagine how you stumbled across it, although I'm unfortunately quite familiar with the kind of journey you've taken with Elias. Our son spent 4-1/2 months in the NICU himself...although for different reasons...and had a near-death episode or two. (Our daughter then took a similar course 2 years later.) I've found that it lends you a lot of perspective in life. All of a sudden, some of the things that stress other people out become laughable. I know how hard it is to take things one day at a time and 'wait and see' how things will turn out for your child who had such a rough start in life.

All the best to you and your family...and to your precious little boy!

StaceyMommaWriterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05179471737837620160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7131658417200450911.post-11149582735312587402008-11-06T00:52:00.000-05:002008-11-06T00:52:00.000-05:00What a precious little angel boy you have.
