Doctor Appointment Updates

Today was one of those really busy days that had just about as much as you could cram in a day for little Elias. Three doctor appointments, Pulmonary GI and Surgery. It was a very positive day with everything remaining the same. Absolutely, no changes which is a rare thing, but we were excited not to have to make any adjustments for a change. The doctors all agreed that the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” philosophy was a welcomed position. They want to see how things go for the next month and go from there. His surgeon also believes the retching episodes we described the other day are due to Elias being overdue for a dilatation of the esophagus, which makes sense. He is going to get back to us with a date for this to happen, but would like to schedule it in the next few weeks. So you can expect to hear something on that soon. He also mentioned he would like to do it outpatient and spare Elias a hospital stay overnight.

We also put in our appeal today for a hearing on Elias hours denial. So we hope to have a positive outcome with this opportunity.

  1. Good for you! So glad all is well. It does sound like a dilation surgery is needed. I think Brody needs one in the next couple of months too. He always hiccups before he throws up the food - that's how we know it's a dilation issue.
