What is FA?

Fanconi Anemia is a rare genetic disease that leads to bone marrow failure, leukemia, and certain cancers at an early age. Typically, a bone marrow transplant is needed by age 7. Sadly, most children do not see adulthood. However, research is helping effectively manage treatment, increasing lifespan, and improving outcomes until a cure can be found. Even more importantly, FA research is creating pathways and new directions with findings for a variety of diseases & cancers, including Breast Cancer.
