Improvement

Elias is doing a little better today. We had a bit of a rough day yesterday. It was very up and down for him. We had a scary moment when his Farrell Valve had backed up due to the G-tube being crimped by positioning. It bolused in a fairly large about of feeds all at once when the natural clamp was released. He started to gag and retch violently and turned a deep purplish-red color. Afterward he was very weak, flushed and very warm, but without a fever thankfully. I had feared he may have aspirated feeds into his lungs. His Pulse Ox numbers were in line so we just watched him through the night. So far this morning there is improvement, and even a few smiles which have been missing the last few days. We are a bit relieved, but still concerned as we watch him make improvement.

Also wanted to update everyone on the little boy Stacey (FA patient) who they gave a few hours to live on Thursday. We were pleased to learn last night that the bleeding in his brain has stopped. He is off life support and on a ventilator, but he had to receive dialysis yesterday and he is in need of a new kidney. Please continue to pray for him and his family. It is indeed a miracle that he is doing so well and we thank everyone who kept them in their thoughts and prayers.
